Tours of Ryan are tentatively planned to resume sometime in 2023. We will open tour sign ups on this page in the near future.
One of the most unique experiences in Death Valley is a Tour of Ryan, a privately owned historic mining camp stewarded by the Death Valley Conservancy. Due to increasing demand for public tours we have now implemented a random drawing system for participant selection. We feel this is a fairer solution than the first come, first served method we have employed for past tours.
Touring Ryan is moderately strenuous and lasts between two and a half and three hours. The tour will include a fair amount of walking – up and down stairs and on uneven terrain.
Our tours are limited to a maximum of 15 individuals (up to 4 per “group” sign up maximum) due to concerns for participant safety, site protection and safety, and staffing availability. Additionally, smaller groups get more out of the experience.
